The Alliance for Enterprise Security Risk Management: A partnership of the three leading international security organizations, formed to address issues surrounding the convergence of traditional and logical security.

2008 AESRM Award Nomination

The AESRM Excellence in Security Convergence and Contribution to Enterprise Risk Management Award was created to honor individuals who are leading the growing field of security convergence and its placement within the broader context of enterprise risk management. Individuals nominated for the award exhibit leadership in improving the convergence of traditional and information security throughout their organizations. Their work involves people, processes and technology to help reduce risk and increase return on investment. They also are proponents of the integration of converged security in ERM, and can demonstrate how they have shared their convergence accomplishments with people outside of their organizations.

Candidates must be nominated by a third party. Nominees must be a member in good standing of at least one of the active founding associations: ASIS International or ISACA. The individual making the nomination is not required to hold such membership.

The winner receives a plaque, and paid conference registration and expenses to attend the ASIS International or ISACA conference at which the presentation will be made.

Judging Criteria

  • Improved security and decreased risk within the enterprise
  • Achieved demonstrable ROI/cost savings
  • Achieved convergence progress in all three domains of people, process and technology
  • Demonstrated leadership in sharing convergence accomplishments outside of their own enterprise (community building)

Nominations are judged by a blue ribbon panel consisting of members from ISACA and ASIS International.

Nominations for the 2008 award are now closed. Watch in May 2009 for the 2009 award nomination form.
