Security Convergence and ERM:
Forming a Consolidated View of Risk From the Perspective of Traditional and Information Security

Forming a Consolidated View of Risk From the Perspective of Traditional and Information SecurityEnterprises are discovering that security convergence achieves value and offers benefits such as better protection of intellectual property and enterprise assets, reduced risk of physical and information security threats, increased information sharing, and regulatory compliance. With all of the benefits that a converged security team can offer, each enterprise should start thinking about how a converged solution could be potentially beneficial. Convergence need not always be defined as combining the physical and information security functions under one group or leader. Convergence may also mean keeping physical and information security functions separate while an enterprise risk council facilitates information sharing between the two security groups.
