On 20 November 2007, AESRM hosted a webinar titled "The Convergence of Physical and Information Security in the Context of Enterprise Risk." The speaker was Adel Melek, MSc. , CISSP, CISM, CPA, partner and global leader for security and privacy services for Deloitte & Touche LLP. The webinar focused on the results of the study recently conducted for AESRM by Deloitte & Touche, which analyzed responses provided by security executives representing traditional areas of security responsibility and information protection. Specifically, the webinar touched on the general state of security convergence, the integration of converged security as part of ERM, the role of risk councils, and the benefits of a strategy for converged risk management. In September 2007, AESRM will be presenting the second annual AESRM Excellence in Security Convergence and Contribution to Enterprise Risk Management award to Sanjay Bahl, CISM, chief security officer of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India. Konrad Buczynski, CPP, chief security officer of Thales Australia, and James Connor, principal and founder of N2N Secure, USA, were the two other finalists for the award.
